An Infeasible Start Predictor Corrector Method for Semi-deenite Linear Programming

چکیده
In this paper we present an infeasible start path following predictor corrector method for semideenite linear programming problem. This method does not assume that the dual pair of semideenite programs have feasible solutions, and, in at most O(jlog((A;b;C))jn) iterations of the predictor corrector method, nds either an approximate solution to the dual pair or shows that there is no optimal solution with duality gap zero in a well deened bounded region. The nonexistence of optimal solutions is detected in a nite number of iterations. Here is a measure of non-optimality and infeasibility of the pair of solutions found, and is generally chosen to be small; (A; b; C) is a function of the data of the problem and is a measure of the size of the region searched, and is generally large. The method we present generalizes a method for linear programming developed by Mizuno. We give some preliminary computational experience for this method, and compare its performance (measured by the number of iterations) with that of the code SP of Vandenberghe and Boyd which is Supported by the grant number CCR{9321550 from the National Science Foundation. 0 based on a potential reduction strategy, and the code SDPA of Fujisawa and Kojima which is based on a path following and potential reduction strategy.

We propose a uniied analysis for a class of infeasible-start predictor-corrector algorithms for semideenite programming problems, using the Monteiro-Zhang uniied direction. The algorithms are direct generalizations of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye predictor-corrector algorithm for linear programming. We show that the algorithms belonging to this class are globally convergent, provided the problem has a so...
متن کاملA quadratically convergent predictor-corrector method for solving linear programs from infeasible starting points
A predictor-corrector method for solving linear programs from infeasible starting points is analyzed. The method is quadratically convergent and can be combined with Ye's finite termination scheme under very general assumptions. If the starting points are large enough then the algorithm has O(nL) iteration complexity. If the ratio between feasibility and optimality at the starting points is sma...
متن کاملLocal convergence of predictor-corrector infeasible-interior-point algorithms for SDPs and SDLCPs
An example of SDPs (semide nite programs) exhibits a substantial di culty in proving the superlinear convergence of a direct extension of the Mizuno-Todd-Ye type predictorcorrector primal-dual interior-point method for LPs (linear programs) to SDPs, and suggests that we need to force the generated sequence to converge to a solution tangentially to the central path (or trajectory). A Mizuno-Todd...
متن کاملConvergence Analysisof Some Infeasible Path - following Methodsfor the Monotone Semi - Definite Lcp 1
We consider a family of primal/primal-dual/dual search directions for the monotone LCP over the space of n n symmetric block-diagonal matrices. We consider two infeasible predictor-corrector path-following methods using these search directions, with the predictor and corrector steps used either in series (similar to the Mizuno-Todd-Ye method) or in parallel (similar to Mizuno et al./McShane's m...
